Our Mission

Kentucky Recovery Vocational Workforce and Re-entry, Inc. is an organization that provides comprehensive vocational training and support services to individuals overcoming substance abuse challenges. We are dedicated to fostering a supportive learning environment that equips our students with the practical skills, confidence, and resources necessary to rebuild their lives. Through personalized education, mentorship, and community engagement, we strive to empower individuals in their journey toward sustainable recovery, renewed purpose, and successful integration into the workforce.

Our Goal is to Foster
Sustainable Recovery

01.
Skills Training Programs

Develop and offer vocational training programs tailored to the needs and interests of individuals with substance abuse issues. These programs could include courses in trades such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, culinary arts, or technology-related fields. The objective is to provide participants with marketable skills that can lead to sustainable employment opportunities.

Integrated Recovery Support Services

Implement a comprehensive support system that integrates substance abuse treatment services with vocational training and employment assistance. This may include counseling, support groups, relapse prevention programs, and case management services to address the unique challenges faced by individuals in recovery while pursuing vocational goals.

Job Placement & Retention Services

Establish partnerships with local employers to facilitate job placement for program participants upon completion of their training. Additionally, provide ongoing support and resources to help individuals maintain employment, such as career coaching, assistance with resume writing and interview skills, and access to transportation and childcare services.

Life Skills Development

Offer workshops and classes focused on developing essential life skills, such as financial literacy, time management, communication skills, and conflict resolution. These skills are crucial for maintaining stable employment and navigating everyday challenges in recovery.

Community Engagement & Advocacy

Engage with the local community to raise awareness about the importance of supporting individuals with substance abuse issues in their journey toward vocational rehabilitation. Advocate for policies and initiatives that promote employment opportunities and reduce the stigma associated with addiction, both within the workforce and broader society. Additionally, foster partnerships with other organizations and agencies to expand the reach and impact of the vocational workforce center’s services.

Staff

Jeric DeVore

Executive Director

Jeric has over twelve (12) years of workforce development experience. He has served as Deputy Executive Director of Lake Cumberland Area Development District Inc.; National Association of Development Organizations Southeastern Representative for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion; Kentucky Farm Workers Executive Board; Cumberlands Workforce Strategic Planning Committee; Steering Committee for Casey County Vocational and Technical School; Somerset Community College Access Board; Mission Board for the Kentucky Baptist Convention; and numerous other boards and organizations. Jeric is a graduate of Campbellsville University.

Wyatt Smith

Instructor

Wyatt boasts 8 years of manufacturing expertise encompassing welding, robotics, and fabrication. His journey from the shop floor to the classroom reflects a commitment to nurturing talent and fostering industry-ready skills. Equipped with hands-on experience across diverse manufacturing sectors, Wyatt’s instructional approach integrates practical application and real-world problem-solving. His dedication to empowering the next generation of professionals resonates through personalized instruction and unwavering support for student growth.

Scott Wells

President

Scott is the co-owner and co-founder of SPARC Recovery. After overcoming opiate addiction himself he founded SPARC Recovery on February 18, 2021. SPARC is now a thriving one-hundred-twenty (120) bed in-patient and outpatient recovery center in Russell Springs, KY. Scott’s vision for KRV began over three years ago when he recognized the importance of aftercare in an individual’s recovery journey. Scott’s proven holistic approach to recovery is the backbone of KRV. Scott is passionate about assisting people who are struggling with addiction, and bringing authentic life change to all that are suffering from addiction.

Alex Williams

Vice President

Alex is an individual driven by a passion to make a positive impact on the lives of those battling addiction and alcoholism. Alex is a University of Kentucky graduate earning his bachelor’s in Social Work. He is currently enrolled in the Masters of Social Work program at the University of Kentucky with an anticipated completion date of December 2024. Alex’s diverse experiences have shaped him into someone who is dedicated to making a difference, both in my professional and personal life

Darryl McGaha

Secretary

Darryl retired as Executive Director of the Lake Cumberland Area Development District in 2021. Darryl also served as the Director of Workforce Development for the Cumberlands Workforce Board. Darryl currently serves on the Southeast Kentucky Economic Development Board and the Adair Couty Ambulance Board. Darryl’s efforts to promote workforce and economic development are well known across the Commonwealth.

Steven Fletcher

Treasurer

Steven is the President and Senior Leader for Russell Springs First National Bank. Steven received a bachelor’s Degree in Agribusiness from Western Kentucky University in 1994 and later graduated from Louisiana State Univerity School of Banking. Steven prides financial assistance for several recovery centers across the state and has a passion for assisting individuals with SUD/OUD.

Eddie Thomas

Member at Large

Eddie was elected mayor of Russell Springs, KY in 2018. He serves as the chairman of the Board of Directors for Lake Cumberland Area Development Inc., where he has served since 2018. Eddie has also served on the Russell County Economic Development Authority; and Industrial Development Board. Eddie is a strong advocate for people with substance abuse issues, as well as a leader in workforce development.
